The most common leather that we come across is called pigmented leather, this generally cleans extremely well with very good results.  Another, less common leather finish that we see is called aniline or semi-aniline finish.  These can be more challenging to clean as the surface of aniline leather has not been sealed.  It leaves a much softer, more natural leather, but is harder to remove soiling and stains from successfully.
